I ride all my boards the same for pow, park, and rails. Centered on my board with 15 and -15 degrees, and 23 inch stance.

The last job I had before I got paid to shred was bussing tables at TGI Friday's in Salt lake City. I'd snow-board during the days and work at night, it was a grind but totally worth it!

My wife and Brother! Two of the most amazing people I know in the world.

Exclusive Interview

I did a gnarly three week Absinthe premier tour on the Volcom RV, got my tonsils removed, and have been learning about and drinking Monavie! Yep, in the summer I sometimes help my dad with his sign business in Minnesota. He has probably 15 separate billboards that are 8 ft. tall and 20 ft. wide that are painted by hand. So being that I have time in the fall to help out, I have been putting in some work for him. It’s good to do real work so you keep in check how good the snowboarding work really is. Gotta keep it real.

The plan for the next season is to focus on building a super solid video part with Absinthe that I am stoked on. I know how much it meant to me when I saw a rider back up a solid part year after year, so I want to give the kids that stoke of seeing solid stuff year in and year out. Progression and fun!

That you can do whatever you want. That when you are out filming handrails or urban features in the city, you are a creature of the night, trying to survive to get the shot and not get a ticket or thrown in jail. That you can go play in the mountains all day with friends and make a job out of it all. That it feels so amazing. That it is my passion, and love and man…I could go on for days, seriously!

I think the haters just make it lame. Snowboarding to me is about having fun, and doing your own thing. People really are a lot like cows, just following the herd, and if you don’t, people let you know their opinion.

It’s funny. I never even noticed it until someone brought it up.

Sad to say, it is important. It’s like high school, either you are cool or you’re not. It’s understandable though, cause most of the people who are into snowboarding are high schoolers, where in that stage in your life, most would give anything to be in the cool group, ya know?

Not much honestly.

I love to travel. The only problem is that I love snowboarding way more. And, traveling actually ends up taking away from me physically being on my snowboard, so the lack of snowboarding makes me not really like it, if that makes sense. Like, going to Europe in the summer for a summer camp would be complete fun and perfect because you know you are not missing anything else. But during the winter when it's good, being on the plane for 20 days just eats at me and makes me wonder what I am missing on those days. Bode Merrill didn’t leave Salt Lake City much last year, and he seemed to manage just fine.

Just hang out with my wife Melissa. She is so amazing and keeps me in check with what goes on in my life. There are some stresses and strains in life, and being she has no attachments to snowboarding, she usually has a really clear outlook on situations. I love her!

Having someone to share moments with in life and doing what I love. Family, friends, and snowboarding keep the heart content.

First of all, you gotta have some athletic ability. If you do, don’t ever give up. Believe in yourself and as long as you want it bad enough it can be yours. You gotta be willing to do whatever it takes, and don’t be scared of failure. If things don’t work out, you will always know you gave it your best and won’t ever wonder what could have been.

Ha, no idea. They’re both good though.

Because CAPiTA doesn’t follow the crowd and does its own thing. Plus, the people behind CAPiTA are amazing, and that is HUGE! And, the boards just ride so good, it’s crazy. Graphics ... unreal.
